More Than Democracy

Originally released in a report from March of 2010, Byron King frames the future of the Middle East in terms of ideology.  The intriguing aspect of Mr. King's report is that it was released nine months before the uprisings in Egypt. King suggests that the events in the Middle East are based on an Islamic divide between Sunni and Shia ideology. He also claims possessing Saudi Arabia is the end game and that Iran is pumping money into key areas surrounding Saudi Arabia in an attempt to choke off oil exports to the West.

Currencies and Oil

Don't be surprised if you start seeing more stories like this one. The Berkshire region of Massachusetts is already doing something similar: http://www.berkshares.org.  Indicators suggest we're heading for an eventual new monetary system.

When it comes to long term trends, oil appears to be riding the long term Bull. Here are
two factors:

1.) Oil is priced in dollars and with a devaluing dollar, oil will hedge itself with higher
oil prices.
2.) Rising global demand from China, India and other emerging countries.

Also, remember that oil is a non-renewable resource. The scarcer it becomes, the more expensive it will be.

Excavating The Truth

Why are these two articles and this video  must read/watch? Because they offer two very different views of what has been reported in the US media. The origins of the 2008 crisis and the  2011 Egyptian uprising are both discussed.  These are times that require us to be very discerning in what is forming our view of the world. I am attempting to only post materials that are substantive and helpful for making informed decisions in the future.
